    That's excellent news! And a good start it appears to be.

    Rebar should be in today, then hopefully pouring the concrete this week. Concrete in Austin is in high demand.

    Looking good Thomas.

    One bit of advice is that while you are trenching in for the electrical do yourself a favor and run at least on empty 1" plus conduit pipe to your house. This will allow you to easily run home networking / cable tv in the future.

    DC in a closet. To make it quieter;

    Seal it up while allowing ventilation

    Put a really heavy door on it with great weatherstripping

    Double the drywall, met takes mass to absorb sound.

    Hey Neighbor! Lookin' good! What part of Austin are you in? I'm out by Oakhill close to 1826.

    I have a double wide insulated garage door on my new shop and I am very pleased. There are a few times when I want to back the truck up inside the building. The door is insulated and tight fitting. If I need more wall space, I will just set equipment in front of the door. I just don't see the down side to do it that way. That is what I did in my old shop and it was fine.

    Waiting on quotes from different framers, I can't wait for this thing to start going vertical.

    Anyway, here is my preliminary electric plan, any feedback is appreciated:

    top-down:

    North wall:

    East wall:

    South wall:

    West wall:
