I just started the back slats, which are probably the hardest part of the build. I finished up the poplar prototype of the center slat last weekend. Once I get past these parts the rest of the build is relatively easy.

Extraordinary! Wonderful table. I'm working thru several Limbert pieces, and have an eye toward a Greene and Greene coffee table. You have set a high bar Robert. Nicely done.
Stand for something, or you'll fall for anything.
Mr. Cherry,
Congratulations on a well deserved recognition with a respected group of craftsmen!

So much to learn, so little time.....
Also get Darrel Peart's other book: In the Greene and Green Style. Subtitle: Projects and Details for the Woodworker. Darrel lives in the Seattle are. I took a week long class with him at the Port Townsend School of Woodworking and Preservation Crafts. Excellent teacher and real nice guy. I've been to his shop. Very impressive and he is a master at jig making.

Very nice work. It looks well worth the 500 hours. I like it a lot.

Thanks Charlie!
Thanks Ken. It seems that the judges for the Oneida American Craftsman Showcase liked it as well, I made the top 25 list!

The wife was thrilled, and I got a cool t-shirt and router dust attachment!

Nice job. 500 hours, wow!
Robert,
I am a hyper critical observer of woodworking projects and a huge G&G fan. I looked at all the other honored entrees and my in my honest opinion yours is THE BEST! BLUE RIBBON!! Don't settle for being just proud, that table is arrogant worthy.
With deep respect and admiration - Bill
Popular Woodworking is running a contest, so I decided to enter this table in that contest to see what happens. There is some very nice work posted in the tables section:

I took the opportunity to take some better photos as well:
