    A Japanese Bunmawashi (Beam Compass)






    I had made one of these for myself (a small one) just for every day tasks. When I heard that one of my favorite youtubers was holding a tool build off/giveaway I used it as an excuse to build the one I made in the video.

    The beam is 25"/635mm long, allowing the user to scribe out pretty big circle. I didn't have enough space on my back porch to use it to it's full extent.

    The wood is some really old and well seasoned cherry I picked up. I really love this wood and working with it is a blast.

    Please do post some still photos...we have a lot of members who have Internet links that are not suitable for watching videos.
