I have to wonder if that tool I posted a pic of that no one could determine what it was was someone's homemade rendition of the same thing, without the cutter.
And....maybe not. But it did come in a box of lathe tools. The guy selling off all his woodworking tools had many "home made" pieces. Some very good ideas. The bidding was vigorous or I'd have bought more.
