    Cracked bowl

My sister in law has a turned bowl she brought back from Italy 4-5 years ago. She thinks it's Olive wood. It has developed a hairline crack along the grain running more or less from the center of the bowl to the edge. It's almost imperceptible to the eye due to its size and the wild grain pattern, you have to locate it by feel. She's used it dozens of times and just noticed it recently. Is there a way to repair this or a least stabilize it?

The crack is probably already stable. There must have been a stress in the wood that relieved itself with the hair line crack. I wouldn't bother with it. any knod of glue won't hold since the wood may have oil in that crack. Just use it and enjoy it and keep your fingers crossed. Meanwhile, don't let her soak it in water. Just use a rinse and dry.
