    Scraper thicknesses?

Does anyone know how thick Doug Thompsons scrapers are? The same question for Crown Pro PM scrapers?

    TIA

My favorite DT scraper is the 1 inch wide by 5/16 thick. He does go wider and heavier. He used to carry a 3/8 by 1 1/4, and next one up was 1 1/2 inch wide and half inch thick. Personally, you don't need more than 1 inch wide, though 1/4 inch is a bit thin for heavy roughing. Look at D Way also. Some thing I never considered but learned after chatting with Eric Lofstrom was that you get a different burnished burr with V10 than you do with M42HSS. More experimenting ahead.... I think the steel turns a burr a bit better than the V10 does. I have been playing with the burnished burrs more, especially for shear scraping with scrapers...

I have a Serious Tool scraper. It is 1" wide and 3/8" thick. It took me awhile to learn how to use it, but I really like it and depend on it. They also have 1 1/2" wide and 3/8" thick. Both are made from A2 steel
