    Btw, tape a piece of packing tape around the edges of the zero plate leaving a square open in the center. It solves the shorting issue.

    I've been looking at this system for a while and was ready to pull the trigger until I ran across this thread. The customer support issue is really scary. I'm always willing to pay a premium (e.g, Festool, SawStop) to buy from companies that support their products. I was going to buy one at Woodcraft but it's a special order according to the manager. I'm sure this would affect their return policy.

    I hate setting up my SS just to cut dados and such...thought this would a nice alternative. Plus, the ability to instantly make some joints without much fuss is very cool. Then again, I'm the type of guy that always buys the latest stuff only to find out it's not better than the previous solution. I'm still trying to get my SS sliding table to work like it should (i.e., at least as good as a miter gauge).
