    Invalid Redirect

Every time I visit SMC I have to enter my name and password. After clicking the login button I receive the Invalid Redirect screen along with the forums home page address. I have clicked on the remember me box but no change the next time I visit.

Look at your short cut to get to SMC. Try making your shortcut to SMC as "http://www.sawmillcreek.org/forum.php" there is an older shortcut that will give you the constant log in error. I had this problem on one of my computers and it took me forever to figure out why that computer wouldn't remember that I stayed logged in until I changed the shortcut. Also try deleting your cookies for SMC.

That was it, the shortcut was the culprit. Thanks for your help.

I have the same problem, having to log in every time I visit SMC. This just started in the last week. It makes no difference if my shortcut is with http or https. Even with the keep me logged in box checked, I get the following error message:

    vBulletin Message

    Invalid Redirect URL (https://www.sawmillcreek.org/forum.php)

    What to try now?

Tom, log out of SMC, remove the SMC cookie(s) and fully close your browser. You may even want to reboot your computer. Restart your browser, log in to SMC and hopefully that will solve your issues. "Most" of the time, a corrupted cookie causes the issue you describe.

I get a weird page (see below) when I follow your link. Try using this address http://sawmillcreek.org/forum.php. That's what I use and I end up at https://sawmillcreek.org/forum.php

I've tried the link http://sawmillcreek.org/forum.php using cut and paste (no typos), with http, and with https, neither makes any difference. I have dumped cookies and rebooted twice and still get the same error. I get the same weird page you get Lee.

It's late, I'm tired, and giving up. Thanks for the ideas.

    Tom,

All of the links above work for me using two different browsers.
    Try another browser next.

I hate to jinx anything, but have perhaps solved the problem. I had a favorite/bookmark in my list for SMC. When the bookmark went haywire, I would right click and open the properties for the bookmark and retype or cut/paste in the new URL text. Over and over and over along with dumping cookies.

This time, I completely deleted the bookmark and started fresh. Went to SMC, logged in, saved a new bookmark, and It Works.

Maybe this will help someone else.

I've been dealing this for just the last few weeks. Tried suggestions above, most changed nothing, but somehow got it to work well yesterday. Today - back to "invalid redirect" and necessity to login each visit. Never have bookmarked it or made a shortcut - just comes up in Chrome as an autofill.
    Any other suggestions?

Make sure you log out, clear all your sawmillcreek.org cookies, then close your browser and then use the link in my post above.

Okay- think I found the trick - still struggling with this, I just found that clicking the SMC logo in upper left hand corner of main page causes system to re-set, recognizing me and shutting off ads.
    FWIW.

I've been having similar issues. Firefox 103.0 doesn't seem to care for http, it wants to see https. When I tried to log on I'd get a message about an insecure web site and if I proceeded anyway I'd get the "invalid redirect" message. I deleted the bookmark which pointed to http: and deleted all the sawmillcreek cookies, logged out and back in then restarted the browser. Now I no longer get the insecure web site message and can log in normally.

Change your bookmark for the site to "that page" after you do the click on the logo, etc.

This started happening to me after updating my Operating System. It didn't seem to like my password when trying to log in on the page.

It was only happening when using my link to the SMC Classifieds. I could look through the Classifieds but it gave me the yellow "If this is your first visit… " banner and the log in window.

Tried Jeff's suggestion of clicking on the SMC Logo then navigating to the Classifieds. This got me to the Classifieds without the banner or the login.

I clicked on the URL and got something about privacy. Acknowledged that and then clicked again on the URL, copied it and replaced the URL in my bookmark, now all seems well.
