Question on finishing acrylic pens

I'm turning my first acrylic pen. Does an acrylic pen finished to 12000 grit require any type of finish or is it left plain?

I have only used the wet sanding on my acrylic pens and they looked just fine.

I use some EEE to finish it off.

Hello,

After sanding all the way through the micro mesh, I then buff with TRipoli, and again with White Diamond. After buffing, the acrylic shines like a brand new car.
