While I am sure I bought different ones than you, I did buy some McMaster-Carr hose clamps (regular worm drive) a few years ago to bolster my mostly Ideal-branded inventory. I did not like them for a rather quirky reason. As I mentioned above, I use a nutdriver to tighten and loosen the clamps. On the McMaster clamps, the bolt head is way to close to the band, so there isn't enough room to easily squeeze the body of the nutdriver between the edge of the bolt head and the band. The Ideals don't have that problem. Too bad as McMaster's prices are awesome.Originally Posted by Jim Barkelew
