    New to me lathe


    Afternoon gents,
    Have not had a lathe in quite a few years, (8).
    Just picked up an ol Delta double duty from the 30"s surprised to see it had original cast legs,I think, paid 300 (hope that was in the ballpark) on craigslist, came with a bunch of accessories too.
    Looking forward to getting back into he swing so to speak.
    Any advice on chucks these days?
    I realize it is a lighter duty lathe.

    You're going to have fun now! What model? (And did you mean to post a picture?)

    Are you saying it was built in the 1930's? If it has threads on the spindle you might look into the chucks that use a replaceable threaded insert, such as the Nova. That way if you get a different lathe some day you can still use the same chuck.
