How about a Braille Micrometer? I know it's more for metalworking, but thought it unusual enough that ya'll might find it interesting. Friend saw it at a tool sale and got it for me as he knows my interest in unusual tools.

I've seen & used almost every type of micrometer, I've never seen a braille one.
Thanks for posting it.

Great post Jim. I just showed this to my wife who has worked around machine shops and custom manufacturing job shops all her life. We both thought it was really neat.

That is very cool Jim!
Ages ago I came across an article discussing a blind machinist who had actually worked up a number of CNC programs which allowed him to do pretty much any sort of machining which he might need --- at the time he was looking for someone to donate the code to to maintain it --- at least one person on a forum I posted it to expressed interest --- sure hope it's being used / carried on.
Wow that is amazing. Hard to believe there has been blind machinists.

I was a doubter but...braille micrometer.jpeg a picture tells it all.
