When I press the laser fire button I can see the the tube glow brightly but it does not leave a burn mark on the tape on mirror #1. The amp meter registers 20 amps when fired. Could the tube be bad?

Someone just asked the exact same question in the last few days, check that thread for a lot of troubleshooting tips.

Do some research lots of questions just like yours, and its 20 mA not 20 amps.
