    Seat Blank

    I am building a shop stool and the seat dimension is 13" diameter and 1 1/2" thick. I am a novice wood turner and planned to true up the blank and round over 1 edge. Seemed simple and I could use my primitive turning skills. However, platter blanks 14" in diameter are hard to find. Now I might laminate the seat blank, using my 3/4" maple, cherry or walnut stock I have. What do you think?

    If you are not in to fancy and just want function, Lowes sells precut round blanks made of pine(?). Then you you just have to turn the legs
