    Band saw boxes

My first attempt at making band saw boxes. I made eleven of them. Nine inches long, and four inches wide, and deep. Used eastern red cedar, walnut and maple.

Very nice work Jim. I have made a few. Other projects keep popping up ahead of making more. Thanks for posting.

    Nice work!

Hey, an idea for a variation - a friend on mine made some bandsawn birdhouses using similar techniques. He made them from eastern red cedar which holds up well outside and weathers nicely.

Thanks for the idea John. I may just do that. Need to get some water proof glue for that. Titebond 3 or Epoxy I guess.

Yes, or just use screws/nails. Or hold it together with wooden pegs so the wood can expand and contract with the weather. A glue line might eventually fail. A clever design could allow some pegs to be removed for cleaning.
