Very cool, but can it be used to rip a six or eight foot board?
I dunno, It just seems like some hold-downs combined with a automated feeder. Except the feeder only works with short boards or if you use a long board you have to awkwardly transition from manually to automatic feed.
A slider or a Sawstop seem like a better idea.
Yes, a Rube Goldberg award maybe in order. That's a lot of mechanism to solve a problem I don't have. First question....what is he doing resawing parts that small on a table saw to begin with? Maybe the bandsaw blade was out for sharpening too. That device puts so much stuff between the wood and the user that you no longer have any clear path to maintaining stock control. I'm all for innovations, I don't feel they adds anything to the field. Looks like he has adapted a shaper euro Shaw guard to a tablesaw, but it's a way different tool. I can keep myself just as safe with a $.29 cut off and a half ounce of training. Sorry to come so strong on that one but to me it falls on the gimmic side of gadget.
