Cool Few Hundred ft of MAHOGANY wide plank for $60.00

Yep, looks like 6/4, one pc 18" wide, all of it 10-12' long. I couldn't pass up the deal. One piece has Brazil painted on the end. Tomorrow I'll check and see if its the real deal Mahogany. Either way this goes, $60.00 is a gloat worthy price for this much wood of any species.

Thats a nice board for less than $2.50/bf by my calculations.

Somebody was smiling down on you ;-)

  3. Great find! I just paid $ 7.50 bf. for some Honduras mahogany to finish up a job.

I think you calculated for the one wide board Aaron mentioned. He indicated a few hundred bdft. Depending on your definition of "few" it may be less than 30 cents a bdft

There are 12 boards total, all over 10ft and 9 of them are over 12" wide and all of them are 6/4. I'm on a cell ph and having trouble getting pics loaded. Might have to get on the desktop later.

Oh geez that is a great buy. That is easily $1,000 worth of wood. Why do people do that? I have sold things for a quarter of their real value because I wanted to get rid of them and thought it might be hard to get any more, but 6%?!

The guy was in a tight spot, he owns a warehouse and working in the shipping import business here at the Georgia ports. He had stored this wood in his shop for the last 20 yrs. He had no use and no clue and no need to find out the value. I was there buying other items (a bunk bed) and noticed the lumber up on a rack. I asked, and he said "yup, everything is for sale" I offered $50 (I'm cheap, and ya never know right?) and he countered back, "how about $60, its mahogany"

So there ya go, Thank you Lord for the blessing.
