    My Bevin's Skiff

After many years of talk, I finally put my money where my mouth was.
I had a couple of good reasons, as you will see in some of the pictures. Plus, my canoe must have shrunk from being outside, because my big rear end used to fit nicely in that little triangular seat in the stern.

I found the plans on line. Some of the stuff was a little tricky (it woudn't be if you built a second boat), but it all went together ok.

The toughest thing for me was the scarf joints.

I made a set of oars as well.

Here is the fun part of the project.

After all was said and done, I wished I had taken more detailed pictures during construction. Maybe next time.

    Michael,
Nice job, looks like the kids enjoyed the build too and put the boat to good use providing dinner.

How gratifying for you, I'm sure. Beautiful boat. Beautiful kids.

Michael, this is a big change from doing pen work, and WOW what a nice result! There is nothing more satisfying than finally completing something you always thought about.
