Hello, i received a quote from Vickie at Shenhui for :

    2. Extra laser tube 125 USD
    3. Extra imported lens , 35USD
    4. Air filter , Normal one 650USD ,
    YC3106 Air filter , 1000USD ( Too expensive )
    5. CW5000 Chiller , 388USD

Now my question is, does anyone have any experience with the standard fume extractor?

My concern is that my shop is hooked up to a central smoke alarm which i cannot reset! I just don't want this alarm to go off.
So any experience with this fume extractor would be appreciated.

    regards,

    siert

Unfortunately ican only vent to the main road in front of my shop. Also there are appartments above and im concerned they will complain about the smell.

A central building system? if so then I'd be looking at a Western made BOFA or suchlike as well as reading up on your liabilities if you set off the fire suppression systems in your building.

I'd suggest finding a different location to install this. Nothing about that situation sounds good.

I tend to agree with Jeff, risk over effect doesn't balance very well in this case.

    Ok,

I don't know how well the Shenhui unit is built ------1K is a bargain.
You will get shock on western built units but they are all solidly built.

Check out Bofa $ Purex from UK and Teka from Germany.

    North american built units are
Quatro-Air from Canada, Fumex from USA

Another option is to locate pre-owned extractors that may be listed on ebay or such sites.

Lastly, built your own and save.

one thing to bear in mind with the Shenhui is the availability of replacement filters.
I have a BOFA AD350 and works well for me.

With central fire warning and control you need to be using quality commercial units. While very good systems, home build or cheaper imports may end up costing you a LOT of money in reparations if you set off a fire control system in the building.
