    Storage in Jet Jointer??

My Jet Jointer has a easily removable cover on the back that opens to a cavity. I could easily put a floor in this and have a place to store extra blades, push blocks and whatever. Has anyone done this? Is there a reason not to do this? I can go months without using the Jointer and such storage would be useful. Like many others I suffer from small shop syndrome and any storage is prized.

I don't see any reason not to as long as you stay away from the motor & drive belt.
I did exactly that with my belt/disc sander.

I did it to my spindle/disk. Go for it. Shop real estate is too precious for wasted space.
