Best laser-cut'able faux aluminum (or other silvery metal) ?

Does anyone have a recommendation on products to use that have a nice aluminum (or similar) finish that can be cut with a laser?

Somebody has asked me to cut out an wooden aircraft silhouette for them, I wanted to surprise them with a aluminum finished one too.

    Needing 18 x 24 sheets if it's out there

    TIA

    Mike

Rowmark makes a brushed Silver product, plastic but can be laser cut and looks just like metal.

Of course, the Rowmark and most plastic sheet is intended to be marked, so you will have edges that are not "silver" colored. For example you can have an alumimum look on a black substrate. The base is always designed to contrast with the surface layer. If the black edges will not work for you it might be more difficult to find something. Or you would have to paint the edges if that is feasible (would be possible to spray paint edges if you left mask on.)

Rowmark or their competitors might have a product that would work - best to contact them. If you are not marking anything you might be able to use thicker substrates normally used for mechanical engraving/signs. They have a thicker cap (paint) layer.

I would go to a sign shop and get some aluminum vinyl scraps and cut it to shape with an exacto knife.

Or sheet of brushed or smooth silver laserlight material (0.004" thick).
Rowmark offers ADA substrate / applique in silver color. Applique is 1/32" thick and substrate 1/16" and both are lasrable.

Edges being burned is OK, I'll check them out

Too big for x-acto use... would take FOREVER!

    Who makes the laserlight?

Laserlight or Laserthins are made by Rowmark and IPI.
