Media Cabinet G&G inspired (lots of pic's)

Redoing the furniture in my TV room. This Greene & Greene media cabinet is the second of four pieces. I completed this one yesterday. My inspiration came from Darrell Peart's Aurora Media Cabinet. I added an opening just below the top for the BlueRay and cable boxes. Used walnut vise the typical mahogany. My dimensions are a bit smaller then Darrels so it will fit my room and TV. I also excluded Darrel's buckles at the bottom.

Greene and Greene inspired Media Cabinet completed.
I could not be more pleased with the results. Wife like it also.
The cables and all of the clutter are in the center area behind the doors. This way we can put the cabinet and thus the TV up close against the wall.
I used Generals Finish Arm-R-Seal for the first two coats then switch to Sam Maloof's oil blend. I was not getting good results applying the Arm-R-Seal to the figured panels. It would smear and smudge. Had better results with Sam Maloof oil from Rockler.

Looks awesome. You should be very pleased with the results. I especially like the feather figured panels. Glad I'm not the only one who uses Walnut for A&C or Greene and Greene styles. I think I'm going to have to save a few of these photos for future inspiration.

You did a fantastic job!! G&G is one of my favorite designs. I love walnut and was thinking of something like you've done for awhile. Thanks for posting.

In this case - I hope that jealousy will be taken as a compliment!

What is the hardware being used for the flattening cauls in the panel glue-up?

Like a delectable morsel of chocolate. Very nice. I think Meesrs. Greene would be happy for the compliment and awed by the intended use.

They work really well. Put packing tape on the wood so it does not stick to any glue squeeze out.
