    Whelan books republished

I just received an email from Astragal Press, stating that both of Whelan's books, Making Traditional Wooden Planes, and The Wooden Plane, are being republished, with the books expected the 21st of November. I have an illegitimate PDF copy of the making wooden planes book, and can highly recommend it. I'll be buying copies of both, if for no other reason than I feel guilty about having a bootleg copy, but the making book is pretty cool, and made a lot of planemaking make sense to me for the first time.

Thanks for posting this Josh. Same here--I'll buy Making Traditional Wooden Planes to assuage my guilt for downloading the bootleg copy (I actually thought it was legit at the time.
I had the other book from interlibrary loan a while back, and it has a ton of great info. I'll get that too, even though I don't really need either.

So did I. Though I have no idea where the PDF went, I saved it with the good intentions of actually reading it.
