Shopsmith Mark 7 - disassembly help for Carriage / Interlatch Shaft Assembly

So I'm a bit OCD when it comes to cleaning, especially after I get a new (used) tool or equipment. I like to give a 100% clean to all parts that open, but I'm stuck on this carriage.

I removed the lock washer on the opposite end, but there's apparently something else holding it in on the handle side. I've highlight 2 possible culprits - does the manual show disassembly instructions? I don't have one, yet

Any advice would be most appreciated.
