beaded, burnt, and dyed box elder box

Here's a box made from box elder that didn't have much going for it, so I beaded, burnt, and dyed it. It's approx. 4 1/2 in. in diam. and 4 1/2 in high from the bottom to the top of the finial. The dye was a water based powder of red walnut, about 3 coats to make it dark enough, it was then given 5 coats of wood turners finish. C & C is most welcome and thanks for looking.boxes mayy 2014 125.JPGboxes mayy 2014 127.JPGboxes mayy 2014 126.JPGboxes mayy 2014 128.JPG

Really like this piece. The curve of the form works so well. The beads add a lot of interest. The knob is very complimentary and the clean bottom is a pleasent surprise. Takes for sharing.
