    50 years ago today

April 13, 1964.....two 21 year old kids tied the knot. Her brothers said it would never last, but they did not count on their sister's immeasurable reservoir of patience.

She still hasn't run out of patience. Our house remodel is in it's eighth year, and hopefully will be done before we are. Three kids, seven grandkids ranging from 12 to 26, and she still hasn't given up on me.

I guess she hasn't finished remodeling me yet.

    Congratulations!
This coming Friday will mark 33 years for my wife and I.

(I'd find a nice dark quiet restaurant to take her to celebrate so we can climb in a booth and neck - but - I'm too fat to fit in a booth!)

My hats off to you both! I remember when my grandparents had theirs - I was very young. They got married on Christmas Eve, so it was always a double celebration every year. I was maybe 8 or there about's and I can still recall thinking 50 YEARS!!!! WOW, that like forever! I wanted that too. Thought I picked the right wife the first time but sadly not.
We married 2 days before my 19th birthday and lasted just over 17 years together. I approach 56 years old next month and have been married 35 of those years. If Frances and I see 50 together like I hope I would be 92. I saw something the other day where a couple had been married over 70 years. More and more those that we know are divorcing after years and years. Mid life crisis?
Frances is my best friend. Can't wait to see her everyday. We're like a pair of pants I guess, usually we are together doing whatever we are doing. Still like two magnets (turned the right way they attract but turned wrong they repel) we are stuck together.

Congratulations to you both and hoping for many more for you both.

Hearty congratulations Mister Grumpy Rick! Your wife's patience has exceeded mine, but only because we've not been married as long. I wish many more for both of you.

Here is another unusual tidbit. Three of Kathy's bridesmaids have been married 50 years also. I guess her high school put out some real keepers. No such luck with my groomsmen.

I used to think the people that celebrated golden wedding anniversaries were old. Not so much anymore. Congrats. No one in our wedding party stayed married except us; we're a few months away from 46 years.

When I was in the Navy the highest compliment you could get was "Well done." A hearty well done to both of you.

I was just about to say "Well Done" when I saw Jim's comment.

    "Well Done" and Congrats anyway!
