    Finishing Purple Heart

I have used oil finishes before on Purple heart, and it turns the wood a deep color. What can I use to maintain the lighter purple hues.

Sammy, PH will turn darker (more brownish) over time, regardless. If you're looking to keep it as "perky" as you can now, I would probably go with some water-borne lacquer or even water-based poly, as either will change the overall tone the least. Put some on a scrap and see how it looks to your eye.
