Secret hiding place in doll house

I am making a doll house for my grandaughter. I think all little girls like secrets so I want to make a "secret" hiding place. The only logical spot big enough is in the chimney. The chimney will be a 2x3 or 2x4 - can't decide which will look better yet. Its a big doll house so the 2x3/2x4 will be several feet long. The 2x3/2x4 will probably also house a fireplace. Any suggestions on how to make a secret compartment in the Chimney? Any way to keep it secret?

How about the fireplace with hidden rare earth magnets to hold it tightly in place. The chimney behind it could be hollow too.

You could make the chimney hollow,and then a machined wooden insert that lowers down into it.....a vertical drawer of sorts.Secondary function is space for Santa.

This must be an absolute joy for you to build........I have one G-daughter.
