    Greene & Greene Bookcase

This is my reproduction of Norm's Mesquite bookcase from the NYW. I bulit mine from Cherry & Walnut (pegging) to match previous furniture built for my office. This piece was long over due (can finally get all my books off the floor). Pictures are poor due to the poor lighting in the room. I used .118 acrylic glass rather than double strength glass. This keeps the weight down and I was able to easily and quickly cut the acrylic to size on the band saw. Finishe with Watco natural Danish Oil and finished ith wax (probably should have taken the time to use satin poly).Sides are 3/8" resawn bookmatched Cherry with nice figure. One side has a 1" knot which I was going to cover with a Dutchman, but i'm glad I left it at the urging of my daughter. She as right, it provides a nice touch of character to the piece. As always I had a great time building it, can wait tostart on the next project a Cherry and Walnut TV console for my wife which will be based on a Metropolitain Stickley design.

Beautifully done Dominic! I really like the contrast between the cherry and the walnut pegs!

I love it. I'm a big fan of G&G and the Craftsman style.
