Bandsaw tires

I've never had to replace any tires up to now. I'd just like the pro and cons. rubber glue on vs, urethene. 1. 14" X 1" URETHANE BANDSAW TIRES ULTRA DUTY .125 THICK the seller claims they are the same thickness across the whole tire
   
   

the same sell had 0.95 thick tires The question between these two is, is the additional .30 worth it? And any preference to flat or "domed" tires?

I could not follow your link. I recently purchased tires for my 2 bandsaws on ebay from bandsaw tire warehouse. Quality appeared to be OK. Urethane does not need to be glued on. I went with the standard thickness. I could not see the benefit of the thicker tire. My wheels are already crowned so flat tires are not required.

The crowned tire is the upper one, the flat is the lower. I'm re- installing a lower replacement tire on a H.F. 14" saw which throws the tire at high speed. It appears to be a urethane type, but I'm going to have to glue it in place because of the problem. Selecting and installing b.s. tires is somewhat an art, you really need to get an accurate measure of the true wheel diameter, mine came in at 13- 3/8", a properly sized tire would be 15- 20% smaller to facilitate decent grip. And then there is choice of material, some swear by the original rubber formulation, others are pro urethane, but don't necessarily believe the "no glue" promise of that type.

I replaced the rubber tires on my 30 year old 14" band saw with urethane tires from Rockler. From what I've seen so far the blade seems to track much better than before.

Urethane tires are easy ton install and do not requiere gluing. It is more durable and will not wear out and become brittle as quickly as rubber tires do; blade tracks better.
