    Tool Score

First let me say I owe this purchase to Matt Meiser, he gave me the lead on this which was almost in my backyard - 30 minutes away.

It was quite dirty when I brought it home, the guy had zero dust collection in his garage shop. Nothing for chip collection at his machines and no ambient air cleaner either. The bottom of the stand was stored in his shed and he had a chain saw sitting on the shelf which was leaking chain oil. Finish on the shelf doesn't look like new but it is acceptable for its purpose. I cleaned her up, adjusted the belt position and tracking (I think I have it tracking straight now), adjusted the drum head (it was hard to raise), lubed the slides and now it raises much easier.

It does not have Smart Sand but I ran some oak this morning taking off a 1/64 per pass (not sure what grit he has on it) at a speed setting of 70 and no bogging at all.

    Got it for $300.

    On to some pics.....

    Thanks again to Matt.

    Ok, You Suck.....

I can not imagine not having a DC on it, I have the 10-20 and have started it up and forgot to turn on the DC and it fogged the shop before I could turn it off.

I will have to say that I never really thought about getting a drum sander but now that I have it I use it all the time.

It's great to find a 'diamond in the rough', isn't it? Great find.

Sweet deal!!! I just snagged one about a month ago. I got a great deal, but you got a STEAL!!! You definitely suck!!

I'm calling Performax to see if they can ship me a new flip top with a true 4" shroud like yours. Mine is a 2-1/2" opening that has a 4" port. Stupid!!!

    Nice find!!!

Jet purchased Peformax some time ago. You may have to get the flip top from them but it will likely say Jet on it I would imagine.
