Thread: luggage tags what to use?

    luggage tags what to use?

I've got one of those last min. customers needing luggage type tags for a charity golf tournament on Tues. What would be a good material that will hold up and be cost effective? I have JDS, Marco, PDU and Johnson's that I could get in time.

    Thanks
    Charity

I sell bag tags all the time out of 1/16" rowmark. Get the plastic lanyard from JDS and you've got about $0.05 plus labor into each one. Pretty good color selections too! I use Johnson plastics.

I am with Matt for Chewbarka tags. I have bought a lot of pet and luggage tags from them.

I like Chewbarka as well. IF you use plastic I would use 1/8" or laminate 1/16" back to back.

Chewbarka is a 2 day ship. So I ordered some Rowmark Max from Jds. I ordered enough to laminate as mike suggested.
    Thanks everyone for your responses!

I think leather is (depending on type) cheaper than rowmark.

What glue do you use to laminate the rowmark?

I think you'll find a single layer work great

Rowmark and other laminated plastics will hold up to a fair amount of abuse. Our tags go on swim team and equipment bags and and we've had few if any failures.. Just make sure your design allows enough material around the attachment point.

Tandy leather, they sell online. I usually buy scrap leather from local leather workers.
