It always hurts to see news of this sort. Lost two friends and my mother last year. Then add those that left this world when I was working as a nurse. Sorry for your loss.

Matt - My condolences to you and your family. My wife of 33 years lost her 4 year battle with cancer last year. From my experience over the past year you will work through much of the grief but never be free of it. Please consider attending a Hospice Grief Management Class in about 6 months. These classes are hosted by Hospice all over the country and are available for anyone suffering a loss (whether Hospice assisted or not). I felt I was dealing well with my grief but attended the first session at the suggestion of the Hospice Chaplin and continued for all 8 sessions (90 minutes each , one session per week). It made me realize that some of the feelings I was experiencing were not insanity - it was normal grief. We all will grieve differently, the class and continued support of the group cleared much of the dark clouds that were blotting out the sun. Find a "Grief Buddy" and have open conversations about your loss, relive your memories, share a tear and a laugh. Your posting of your loss with your Sawmill Creek friends is a good first step. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
