I was drilling out some mortises this morning and the arbor came loose from my Ryobi DP12IL drill press. The operator's manual doesn't address this situation.
Tapping the arbor back into place doesn't help. Any of you guys have any suggestions? I bought this unit for $150 several years ago so I guess I've got my money's worth but I'm guessing there's a solution sort of replacing the whole thing.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Arbors are just tapped in. The secret to them gripping is having good condition, clean, dry mating surfaces. If the parts look pretty good, just some acetone will probably do it; I use naphtha. I don't tap on mine if pressing the fully opened chuck (gets the jaws retracted) against a block of wood via lowering the quill with a decent pressure will do the trick. If not; tap, tap, tap (not pound, pound pound).
