EZ Smart Guide Router Sub-Base

This afternoon, after making an offset sub-base for the PC D-handle router base, I had an idea of making an oversized sub-base for it.

To make the job easier, I used the EZ Router Base as a template. Then I saw the light. I made another sub-base similar to the oversized sub-base, but truncated its tail it to fit the EZ Guide. It fits nicely in the system. Also, it can be easily removed from the system and used by itself as an offset sub-base.

Dino, how about adding a sub-base like that to the router base kit? I think some people will appreciate it.

Also, notice the amber power-plugged-in LED indicator I added to the D-handle. It is most visible in the photo with the oversized sub-base.

I see that you have the old router kit.
You need to send that in order to retrofit the new traveler (slide)
Or we send you a whole new one and you send this one back.
With the new SRK you don't have to insert the router from the end of the guide rail and is fully adjustable, with an aluminum plate in the middle that is prepared to accept few other gadgets.
Only if you need to rout perpendicular is better to keep the one that you have until we include this feature on the new SRK.
And that goes for all our customers including the auctions.
I like the router sub base and we're working on a low friction oversized sub base and a handle for the router base. In order to use your router off the guide rail ezier. Someone out there may holds a patent on this and before we do anything we will find out and get the OK before we can make it available.
keep thinking Hoa. You will go crazy with the new SRK.
All directional routing. Unlimited perpendicular and parallel routing.
Zero play on all movements. Unlimited circle making capabilities and as small as 1". Unlimited duplicating. 32 mm line boring for cabinets. And micro adjustments off the top of my head with only one coffee.
When you get the new SRK start thinking about all the above.
I'm sure you can come up with another, fresh and EZier way.

Dino, the new router base where you don't have to insert from the end of the guide rail, sure is an improvement! When routing some sliding dovetails, I noticed that it was a pain to get the router on the guide rail, from the end.

Hi Pete.
The old one is captive. And you need to insert the slide from the end of the guide rail. The new one is a non captive (like the circular saw) but adjustable to give you zero play on the guide rail and the sliding arm.
And the new one is prepared to accept few Ez gadgets better than the old one. You can return the one that you have for an upgrade.
