    Angry Wheel stickum

Unlike some people, I did not run out in search of a hand grinder last year. There was one in a box at the thrift store so I calmly walked over and bought it. Covered the old crummy wheel with weldwood and put a piece of 10 oz veg tanned tooling leather over it. I know it's been mentioned but what do I put on the leather to get the green crayon stuff to stick to the wheel? Right now it will not stick. Thanks

Mineral Oil is the most often mentioned, I've also heard of Neatsfoot and BLO being used and one mention of motor oil.

Mineral oil or Marvel Mystery Oil does it for me.

Mineral oils works great. Just add a few drops to green block to help soften it as you rub, a little goes a long way.
