Thread: Finish for Walnut Bathroom Mirror Frame?

  1. #16
    Danny,
I sprayed Enduro Var with 29 psi at the gun. I have a LVLP gun (Qual Spray QW600WB). My compressor is rated at 6 scfm at 40 psi. The Enduro Var is pretty thin straight from the can. No thinning was required for my gun.

Thanks for your advice, one and all.

Here is the finished product. General Finishes Antique Walnut Gel Stain + Minwax Wipe-on Poly (The first coat was Arm-R-Seal, but while unsupervised "The Finishing Queen" used her go-to Minwax for the 2nd-6th coats.)

It is attached directly to the the mirror using 3M Command Poster strips.

I think water based polyurethane will work best on walnut as it will always get contacted with water indirectly or vapor.
