    Planer roller question

Hello. I picked up a Makita 2040 in nice condition. The infeed roller seems to be in great shape - it is perfectly symetric and seems to measure at the factory spec 65mm diameter. The outfeed roller however is not 'flat' with gaps up to 1/8". I was able to get the outfeed roller out of the machine, but stripped the screws on the infeed (despite heat, penetrant, and shock therapy).

I see no reason to drill out or easyout the infeed roller since it seems to be in such good shape. My thinking is that I'll get the outfeed roller rebuilt (others suggested JJShort and that seems good to me) to 65mm.

    Two questions:
    a) do I need to be worried about any very minor differences in roller size if the rebuilt roller is very slightly different than the infeed? My thinking is "no" because the rollers aren't steel - they give a little.
    b) they offer 3 different materials: white neoprene, black neoprene, and urethane varying from $100-$110. Which should I get?

    Thanks!
