Thread: Plywood alergy?

  1. #1

    Question Plywood alergy?

I have been working with plywood of several varieties the last several days and I got some dust blown into my eyes and they are hurting. I am wondering what is in that dust?

I think one sheet of plywood is from Asia and the core wood is unknown. It looks like pine and is light weight but open grained looking at the end grain.

I really hate plywood but it saves a lot of time on some projects.

    HI,

God knows what's in the glue that they use.

    Glue

The glue is probably respnsible for your problem. Some of the glues use formaldehyde as a polymerizing agent, not as much as in the past but it's still there in many laminated products.
