    Big Sable Lighthouse Art Prize 2012

    Segmented lighthouse that is 36 inches tall. Collaboration with John Smith of Lowell Mi. This is our entry in Art Prize 2012. Maple and walnut with Mallee burl to ground it. C & C Welcome

    How did you remove the wax coating off of the Mallee Burl?

    Thanks everyone. It was great working with Ron this year for Artprize. If you can do a collaboration with someone I would highly suggest it. It creates great camaraderie, and I have found 2 great friends doing this now.

    Thomas there was no wax on the tan surface of the mallee. The mallee was bleached with two part bleach to take some of the color out of the surface. Ron
