    A Fine Day's Work

I'm working on a small stand for the LOML. I'm making it from some curly cherry. The top is glued up from a piece that also has an abundence of cats paws. The stand is going to have three slide-out baskets and the finished size is dictated by them. H - 34 1/2" x W - 17 3/4" x D - 19". Here are a few starter photos:

A sample of the cherry I'm using. It has some nice curl.

This is a shot of the top. It was difficult to get the grain lined up and still be able to showcase the cats paws, but I think I did the best I could.

Here is a close-up of those little paw marks.

And the end result of my first day's work.

    One more shot, different angle.

    Looks nice.

My first guess is you have fluorescent lights above your bench.

Thanks Jim, and yes they are Fluorescent. In my finishing area I have a mix of Fluorescents & incandescents, and I have a portable lamp that I use for a raking light.

I could tell by the color shift in your images. My camera has a white balance that seems to work to eliminate the color shift.

It could be more trouble than it is worth.

Don't know, Jim, I think automated color balance is one of the main benefits of digital cameras, makes my photography life much easier. It's the one feature I truly miss when I have to return to film.
