Ideal room temerature for laser engraver?

    Hi,

Your opinion, what's the ideal room temperature for laser engraver?

    Thanks

Well , there is an operator to consider too - so normal room temp should be comfortable for both - 68-70f

68-70 degrees are a bit cold for me but this temperature could be on the high side for computer and lasers

I keep my engraving room at normal room temperatures, 68-75F.

I prefer closer to 65 for myself, if I can manage that the laser is happy too.

I work for a large company and our AC unit went down about 2 weeks ago when it was 110deg outside (Palm Springs) and got up to about 95 inside, I tried running a small job but the laser shut itself down after a few minutes so I figured I better not try to push it. This time of year in the desert it's already 85-90 when I start in the morning, the boss doesn't like to leave the AC less than 88 at night so I try to wait until the room temp is at down to at least 80 before I start running the machine.

Thanks to all of you... it's been helpful.

One more thing... do you recommend some additional cooling of laser engraver? I mean, direct cooling of laser tube with some direct external cooler which could blow directly in the part of machine where the laser tube is set.

I would only add extra cooling if you actually have a problem with the tube overheating , otherwise I would just use it. We have a lot of lasers in my workshop that is not heated or cooled , temps vary between about 50 to 90+ during the year , we have no issues at all running like that.
