    Pierced Oregon Myrtle HF

Pierced and Airbrushed Oregon Myrtle Hollow Form. Around 6" (15cm tall). Finished with EM6000 waterborne lacquer. This was a struggle to finish as it has been so humid lately that the finish was misbehaving.

That is a beauty Eric. Nice airbrushing and piercing.

Thanks everyone, I had fun coming up with the design. I had turned the piece a few weeks ago, and was struggling to come up with a design for how to embellish it. Finally went with the interlocked, curled teardrops that I have used with some of my recent bowls and decided to go with a somewhat wild color on the rim.

Serious skills there Eric!! I'd almost like to see an almost magenta with some sparkle to it for the color...have a really nice visual in my mind of that, on the other hand...I have about 3 brain cells left! The piercing really creates a great flow!

Nice work on the piercing Eric!

To be honest... I still can not get used to seeing the pencil/pen marks outlining the design. Just my opinion, but feel the piece would look even better if the marks were sanded off after piercing. Like I said... just my opinion.

An interesting observation, I tend to outline my design with a wood burner to ensure that the line can not be erased. I shall have to try some without that.
