"My favorite piece is my last one, my best piece is my next one."
Wow, I like that! Can you explain how you did your holes and how you did the finish?
I like it...but I think it has more of a marine presence to it than a relic. Very cool.

I'm with Tim...looks like something you'd find in a tide pool. A great find to be sure!

Thanks guys. The texture was applied with a rotary carver and the finish is layers of Golden Artist Acrylics. It is funny about the tide pools and marine presence comments. That is what I was experimenting with in preparation and study for the next AAW show in Tampa, "Currents." However, when finished it reminds me of tarnished copper.

Pretty cool texture effect! I like the random pattern! Reminds me of a sponge!!

Another beauty Joe. Sorry we missed each other at the event. I did see your piece that was auctioned. Nice work there as well.
What you listen to is your business....what you hear is ours.
Nice work Joe. Glad to see you using the Golden Acrylic's. I use a lot of them in my work & have been pounding a drum to try to get others to use them instead of dyes. (with out much luck )
Different, but definitley interesting and I think you have achieved what you set out to do. Its got the old relic look to it, excellent.

Thanks for the info Joe. I must say, my first reaction to it was one of those puffer fish or sea urchin type of thing, but relic works just fine. Cool looking no matter what you call it!
Very cool Joe! I really like this one. The holes add alot of character and I love the color.

That is interesting and unique Joe. Like Steve kinda reminds me of a sponge.
