Winners Announced - Yew Wood FreeStuff Drawing

    Greetings Creekers:

A while back there was a flurry of activity around proper wood species for making the Gramercy 12'' Bow Saw kit.

I ended up gifting suitable stock to a fellow Creeker; to which he was appreciative. He did a great job on the
    finished product as well.

Recently, I came across some more Pacific Yew, and would like to give back to the Creek. So, I am offering to
responders to this thread, postage paid within CONUS / Canada the following:
Two pieces of nicely colored Pacific Yew, 5/4 x 5.75'' x 18'' long - enough for two saws - easily. The draw date will be
Friday, June 15th, and I will let Mr. Outten perform the honors.

The saw kit from TFWW is about $25.00, and IS NOT included in the package, just the wood. Of course, the wood can be used for anything else
    the winner wishes.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Yew, it is a stringy, surprisingly tough member of the Cedar family, and one
of it's common uses is for long bow construction, however, finding a piece long enough and straight grained enough is not
    that easy.

Good luck, and thanks to everyone for what they do for this Forum!

    Dave Beauchesne

I just wrapped up a bowsaw build, sort of inbetween the Gramercy and Bill Anderson designs. Was pretty happy with it, was working well in tests, and then got around to making a proper toggle and getting some decent cord for it. First tension after that I snapped the arm. Poor wood selection was the main issue; combined with possibly overzealous tensioning.

So yeah, I'm going to be starting again (I'm assuming the glue I used to fix it won't hold...) and I think I'd like to enter this drawing.
