top coat both sides or one in a cabinet made with plywood

So if using ply do we top coat both sides (show and hidden) of everything or just the show die is enough. I figured there is so much glue already inside plywood that the force introduced by poly may not have any noticeable impact.
The means by which an end is reached must exemplify the value of the end itself.

I finish interiors that are behind doors -- that is, can be seen. Cabinet modules that have only drawers don't get any interior finish. My take is that the finish protects the wood from spills, and makes it look better. If it can't be seen, there's no need for finish.
