It's been five years since I made & installed the Mahogany counter top. It took some abuse in that time & not from us. We had someone watch our house when we went away for a month three years ago & they didn't take the same care as we do with the counter. So after looking at it for all that time I decided to strip it & refinish it while my wife is away. Mike Henderson did such a great tutorial on compass roses I decided to try a few....which led to about 8 in different woods & sizes. I thought I'd add something to the newly refinished counter top & this is what I ended up with...It points north with the star. The star is pearl shell I guess....that's what it said. The finish is just semi-gloss urethane. We don't cut or prepare food on the counter so I guess it should be all right.IMG_7712.jpg
