use the money saved to have some kids dig a ramp into the basement to carry wood in and projects out.

Maybe I should have said my shop is in my basement. One reason we bought this house is easy access to the basement. None of that middle of the house stairway that leads to a wall business. My son just bought a house with a huge basement. I could setup a production line there. But no real access to it. If he and his wife ever want something big down there they might have to dig that ramp you speak of or cut a hole in their living room floor and drop it down. Yes, I've seen the pix of a guy that did that. No, I'm not going to emulate him.
