    Who made/designed this chair??

This is a chair my FIL received from a lawyer friend of his. There are two of them and they are comfortable and well designed. (This one is being recovered currently)

I was wondering if any of my fellow creekers knew anything about the chair. Maker, designer, era, mass produced, custom, etc. Its about 30 years old. No marker mark or production codes on the chair or the seat panel.

Thought it was worth a shot.

    Thanks,

    Jon

    Jon,
That chair has a definite Scandinavian influence to it, although the form is a little rough and not as flowing as it should be. Since you are not able to locate any markings whatsoever, it's a safe bet that it's a handcrafted piece. The angular aspect of the design (lack of taper and organic form at its edges) lead me to think that this was a "modernized" take off of a late 1950's/early 1960's Scandinavian design.

Maurice: After seeing the cabinet Mark just put up on this forum, I'd have to agree with you about the scandinavian design influences. the rounding on the legs and the lean of the design. Well if i find any more info, I'll post it here.

Randy: No, definetely not...he could barely dig his way out of the office.

    Thanks guys,
    Jon
