Wow, very nice. I like the way it brings the red out. Very nice form also.
Great Job all around.

WOW! That is really nice-- what is the size and what finish? Love the form and the red contrast.

Ditto the other replies! I love the color and contrast in the wood and I like the form!

So much to learn, so little time.....
Very nice. Any unusual method involved in the bleaching? Was it before or after final turning/sanding? With that kind of effect, I would be inclined to experiment with other woods, too.

Spinning is good on a lathe, not good in a Miata.
That looks really great! Do you have a before picture?

"It's not the quality of the tool being used, it's the skills of the craftsman using the tool that really matter. Unfortunately, I don't have high quality in either"
It's about 5"d x 6"t. I finish turn and sand to 320 then I put a few coats of the bleach on then let dry. After drying I lightly sand the raised grain to 320 again the apply a few coats of Deft sanding sealer and buff. An oil finish will darken it again. I've tried other woods but have been unhappy with the results.
Anthony,
That is really a nice piece - beautiful. -Steve
